++ Surprised?? The Nuevo León Attorney General’s Office said that the seven police agents and transit officers from the town of Santiago who took part in the abduction and murder of mayor Edelmiro Cavazos are linked to the Los Zetas hired gunmen’s group.

++ Will Mexicana ever fly again..? The Labor Secretariat said the offer made by Tenedora K to negotiate with Mexicana airline attendants was “unacceptable.” … Tenedora K wanted to fire all flight attendants, disregarding their collective contract, and only rehire 25 percent of attendants under a different contract. Tenedora K chief administrator Alejandro Rodríguez Mirelles said the impact of labor costs on the financial and competitive situation of Mexicana de Aviación was graver than what was thought.

++ Health Secretary José Ángel Córdova Villalobos said he was in favor of amending the Social Security law to offer health rights to all Mexicans, including same-sex married couples. Mexican Social Security Institute Director Daniel Karam reported on his Twitter account that he had submitted to Congress a proposal to amend the law so as to be able to provide health protection to same sex married couples.

++ Tropical depression number 24 caused damages in 30 towns in the state of Veracruz, affecting more than 4,000 homes that were drenched when seven rivers flooded their banks. Meanwhile in Oaxaca, 500 families were forced out of their homes when the Los Perros river flooded over in Juchitán, Oaxaca… Rains dumped by tropical storm Frank made the river rise to its maximum level and flood over.
