It looks like it is going to be a bloody Christmas... On Tuesday, the Secretary of Turism for the State of Sinaloa, Antonio Ibarra Salgado, was murdered by a comando in one of the busiest avenues in Culiacán. Meanwhile the PGR intiated an investigation into the murder of four family members of the fallen marine killed during the operation that took down Arturo Beltran Leyva.
Fallout regarding the new law allowing gay marriage and adoptions by same-sex couples. Oposition legislators asked the mayor of Mexico City, Marcelo Ebrad, to veto this law. Mexico City´s Legal Advisor, Leticia Bonifaz, stated that the reforms to the civil code, allowing same sex marriages is legal and constituional. The president of the Human Rights Commission for mexico City, Luis González Plascencia, applauded this legislation and assured that this was an important step sending a message of tolerance.
