The deadline expired Saturday for workers who were dismissed with the closing down of power utility Luz y Fuerza del Centro to cash their severance payment with an extra bonus… Officials said 236 former workers went to the one or another of the 20 attention centers… The government said that since October 14, when payments began, 27,407 workers have accepted their severance payments, or 61.57 percent of all the Luz y Fuerza workers…

Authorities said the first batch of 650,000 dosis of the A H1N1 influenza vaccine was set to arrive on November 23… Authorities have pledged that 30 million vaccines will be purchased from two European laboratories…(Comment: 650,000 of 30 million!! The crisis will be over by the time the vaccine arrives…) The latest information from the Health Secretariat indicates 62,000 confirmed cases of AH1N1 influenza and 492 deaths from the disease.

A large number of holiday travelers took advantage of the November 20, 99th Anniversary of the Mexican Revolution, long weekend… Authorities said the heaviest traffic was reported on the Mexico-Toluca highway, followed by the Mexico-Pachuca highway… As the weekend began, no fatal accidents had been reported…(Comment: Traffic on Monday evening is really going to stink…)
