How dangerous is Oaxaca?

Very, according to the US Government. Check out the latest Warning posted by the State Department on October 30th. Additionally the Ambassador of Canada to Mexico Gaëtan Lavertu was quoted in Reforma newspaper stating that he recommended Canadian nationals not to travel to Oaxaca, Guerrero and Michoacan. The Mexican Government insist that the Oaxaca conflict does not affect Mexico´s image abroad or turism in general (yeah right!)By the way if you live in Mexico City, once again the marches and protest will take over the City, in addition to being "Quincena", and Halloween. Expect "TRAFICO HORRIBLE" and take the necessary precautions. (Use the John before you head out, take a snack and a bottle of water, you may be in the car for hours...)
