At least we now have the name of one Secretary
We now know who will be the Secretary of Hacienda Treasury: Agustín Carstens, who is (was) a high-ranking official at the World Bank. He announced today that he would be leaving the Bank to join Felipe Calderon´s transition team (he is considered to be number three in the Bank hierarchy.) In terms of short-term stability and the world attention, this appointment was the most relevant one. And Calderón has resolved it pretty early in the process. I am sure the world markets are rumbling with happiness.. The Mexican left will have a conniption (The World Bank is now running the country... I can hear it now.) Hail the new Secretary of Hacienda..

You are confusing the World Bank with the International Monetary Fund. They are not the same institution. See www.imf.org for the official press release.
I believe that Carstens is an official of the International Monetary Fund, not the World Bank. Not the same thing.
Yep, I am confused...and tired. Thank you for pointing out that Carstens comes from the IMF and not the World Bank... I apologize..
