The Federal Electoral Institute initiated its legal defense and sent to the Federal Electoral Tribunal its report on the presidential election. The document contains the body of defense of the IFE in the face of all the complaints alleging irregularities and anomalies in voting as disputed by some parties and political coalitions. (Remember the legal battle is not between Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and Felipe Calderón, rather AMLO vs. the IFE)

During a meeting with members of the construction industry, Felipe Calderón reiterated his call to all Mexicans to defend peace, their vote, democracy and government institutions. He also reiterated his call for people to join his campaign ¨Lets paint Mexico white¨. (This is the PAN effort to create a social movement. You know, some people march, some people where ribbons….)

José Medel Ibarra, a deputy of the PRI in the Legislative Assembly of Mexico City, said that one of the people who assaulted Felipe Calderon last Tuesday, works in the office of the City’s Public Security …he said it implied the involvement of Diego Valle, whom he said is linked with someone known as the "El Tibiri Tabara", who some months ago assaulted Diego Fernández de Cevallos, a PAN senator. (Mmmm quite suspicious uhhh, the rebel rouser works for the government of Mexico City…. The Ministry of Public Security no less..)

The president of Coparmex, Alberto Nuñez Esteva, called on everyone from the Coalition of the Good of All, not to propagate violence. Mr Nuñez Esteva asked them to be patient and wait for the final resolution from the Federal Electorate Tribunal regarding the presidential election.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador met in private with the rector of the UNAM, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, without letting anyone know the topic of their conversation. (What could they be talking about? Perhaps that Juan Ramon de la Fuente could be the interim President if the elections is annulled….? )

Teachers from the 22nd Section of the Union of Teachers blocked the entryway to the Congress of Oaxaca... This demonstration makes up part of the ¨truce¨, which was announced by the teachers – the truce consists of closing entryways to the three powers of government in Oaxaca state – without affecting vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

It is rabble rouser, my dear. Not rebel rouser, though that is an interesting twist on the phrase. Enjoy your updates, by the way. Keeps me from having to actually read the newspapers.
The post election situation reminds me of a story I read many Years Ago. During World War II an English Commander went to see Sir Winston Churchill to deliver a report of the previous day battle.
In this battle the English had lost one third of the Air Force,
25% of the Navy, and the Army casualties were counted by the thousands. And at the end of the
Report in huge Capital Letters the
word V I C T O R Y. Churchill
looked at the Commander and said
ONE MORE VICTORY AND WE LOSE THE WAR.
In these Elections we already have
one Victory in Calderon, One more Victory by AMLO and we definetley
lose D E M O C R A C Y.
